FREE Preventive Developmental Screenings
As a parent, you may have questions about whether or not your child is reaching age-appropriate milestones. You might have concerns about your child’s healthy development. The Early Learning Center (ELC) hosts free monthly developmental screenings for children ages 5 and under. During these Screening Days, Early Child Education Consultants and other trained professionals use evidence-based screeners to identify developmental red flags. The consultants are also available to answer any questions you may have. If your child displays developmental red flags, we provide a continuum of care by linking your family to community resources and following up with you to ensure that your child gets the support he/she needs.
Developmental Screening Days
A Developmental Screening is a quick general measure of your child’s development. A screening helps to identify whether your child needs further evaluation to determine if your child has a developmental delay or disability.
Developmental screenings do not diagnose. Screenings provide an overview of your child’s strengths and needs. They can also help parents, caregivers, and teachers know how to best support your child’s school readiness.
The free Developmental Screening Days are offered on the 3rd Saturday of the month from 10:00am-12:30pm and 1:30pm-3:00pm. We offer free Developmental Screenings, Maternal/Parental Mental Health Screenings and Autism Screenings.
In addition to the screenings, Special Education attorney, Russell Ching, is also available for a free consultation to families who need help understanding their rights and advocating for their child.
Developmental Screenings are also available online.
